Pre-Press Graphic Artist (Printing)

Job Summary

Confirming that the digital art files are all present , valid, correctly formatted, and of the desired type.  Requires in-depth knowledge of desktop publishing applications such as Illustrator. 

Responsibilities

• Make sure images and graphics embedded by the customer have been provided and are available to the application.
• Assure fonts are accessible to the system, not corrupt and are in a compatible format.
• Look to see that image files are of the correct color format, resolution and are of formats that the application can process.
• Confirm that the page layout document size, margins, bleeds, marks and page information all fit within the constraints of the output device and match the client specifications.
• Communicate effectively with supervisor, customers, co-workers, account managers, and all pre-production

•  3 to 5 years experience in Adobe CS-3 Software preferred
• Confident user of Mac OS X
• Strong work ethic and organization skills
• Must posses a high level of proficiency in Adobe Illustrator
• Printing company experience a plus

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds on a nonroutine or daily basis.
